If it is not possible for me to use the History of Medicine Section's materials in person, may I request reproductions of an item or items?

Yes, you may request reproductions of select pages from books or archival collections if there are no copyright or privacy restrictions on the items.

To request reproductions, please use this form.

Please be aware that staff will reserve the right to reject a reproduction request. Common reasons requests are rejected are:

  • the materials are too fragile
  • the size of the request is too large
  • research demands at the time of the request are too high
  • an alternative version of the item is available by other means (a circulating copy is easily accessible or a copy is available digitally)

It is advisable to request reproductions well in advance of the time you will need them. Time to completion of the request will vary based on demand and staff availability. If you make a request and it is denied, staff will notify you.
