What's the difference between The Lancet ( ISSN: 0140-6736) and The Lancet North American Edition (ISSN 0099-5355)?

There is no difference in Editorial content between the North American and International editions of the Lancet. The North American edition is printed and distributed in the US to ensure that it reaches subscribers promptly, and to manage shipping costs more efficiently. In order to obtain the most beneficial postage rates from the USPS, the Publisher is required to register the North American edition as a separate publication in the US. The North American edition will also sometimes carry display advertising specific to the region which does not appear in the International edition.
