How can I get swipe access to Miner Library?
Answer
Swipe access to Miner Library is automatically granted to:
- School of Medicine Students
- EIOH Students
- SMD Graduate Education Students
- School of Nursing Students
- Residents & Fellows
Swipe access is not granted to staff or faculty because swipe access is intended for study space use when the library is not open. During these times, the library is not staffed and there is no access to the stacks. Students need the study space because there’s a shortage of study space around the University. It has been our experience that staff/faculty do not regularly use the library for study space in the late evenings or very early morning hours, and generally have office space onsite.
On rare occasions an exception may be made for a staff or faculty member, without a private office, that needs study space for a particular purpose. For example, a staff member studying for a board exam. If this is the case, please provide a full explanation when requesting swipe access.
Alumni are not eligible for swipe access.
