EndNote Password Policy

Beginning February 12th, 2026, Clarivate (EndNote/Web of Science) is instituting a new password change policy for accounts that use the sync or online/web feature. This change will require users to update their password every 180 days. 

To check if you are using sync with EndNote or to update your password: 

  • Open EndNote:
    • For Windows: Edit menu > Preferences > Sync. 
    • For macOS: EndNote XX beside the Apple icon > Settings/Preferences > Sync.
